After having a few last great days with Felipe in Cartagena, we unfortunately had to go our own way. I flew to Mexico, which turned out to be very expensive as I felt asleep on the airport and missed my flight. Obviously had to buy another one...
But I still made it to Mexico and meet Laura in Cancun. Right now I am off the Backpackertrack. Cancun, Cozumel, Playa Del Carmen and our next destinations are all very touristic and therefore it feels right now a bit like holidays instead of traveling.
Right now is spring break in the US. Therefore there are lots of US Americans everywhere and we will even go back to Cancun for one week of spring break which will be most likely one week of beach and parties.
Cancun itself is Mexico’s Tourist Capital and therefore it is hard to spot any Mexican vibes. Same for Playa Del Carmen. Cozumel on the other hand somehow managed to have a relaxed atmosphere even though there are lots of cruise ships. Furthermore there are wonderful dive spots. The water is very clear and you can see amazingly far. We got to see a huge Muraenidea and a big turtle, which you could probably have been riding on.
Chichen Itza
The snake is a phenomenal which happens twice each year (21.03. And 22.09) where the suns light seem to make the snake move downstairs)
Playa Del Carmen
Playa Del Carmen right now with lots of algals.
After this weekend we will be heading to Tulum.
Hope no one in Germany froze so far.
Sending some sun from Mexico
Hannes
